I belong to a forum on a homeschooling website. For those of you who may not know, a forum is like an online community. Members can post messages, talk back and forth, and so on. On this website, we have "General Chat", "Prayer Requests", "Field Trips", "Curriculum Discussion", and a page where teens can go to chat.
Now to join a forum, you have to register and choose a new name. I thought it had to be your real name, so I chose "jenniferdunn." No hiding who I was! I soon discovered that was not the case, as many women chose descriptive names- "hears the water", "math wizard", "spa lady", and so forth.
In a turn of events, the website is undergoing major changes, and to be on the forum, everyone must register again and choose new names! Yes! But now I must think about what my new name will be. Right now I like "racingmom", "sixandcounting", and "joyfuljenn". I want something that will have people saying, "Now why did she choose that?"
What name would you choose? Sometimes I wish I knew now the name Jesus has chosen for me in Heaven. Saul became Paul, "the Rock". Not too bad. Would God consider me to be "Joyfull Jenn?" Maybe. For now, I leave you with this: what's your name, your REAL name? If you were a Native American, would your name be something good, like "Joyfull" or "Loving", or would it be "Angry Warrior", "Madface", or "Busy Body"? We are known more by our actions than our words.
